What the Trees Teach Us About Letting Go
Every fall, the trees do something brave. They let go.
The leaves that gave them shade all summer turn gold and red, and then they fall. The tree doesn't fight it. It releases what it no longer needs so it can rest, heal, and grow again in spring.
We aren't always that wise. We hold on to worry. Old hurts. Regret. Plans that didn't work out. We grip them tight, even when they're wearing us out.
God invites us to open our hands: "Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved." Psalm 55:22
Peter said it this way: "casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7
Notice why we can let go. Because he cares for you. Release isn't giving up. It's trusting the One who holds what we can't.
And when we release the old, God makes room for something new:
"Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?" Isaiah 43:18-19
What do you need to release this season? Write it on a tag from this kit. Tuck it in your journal. Then give it to Him.
Spend a Few Hours Letting It Go
Some burdens don't lift in a moment. They loosen slowly, one prayer at a time. That's why I made the Release Kit. Set aside a few quiet hours. Cut, layer, and fill each tag and card. And as your hands work, let your heart pray. Make a laoded pocket or a junk journal layout.
