I have happy news for my fabric-loving friends. Starting this month, I'm sharing a free Kinusaiga pattern every month. I'm calling it the Pattern of the Month.
Each one comes with a printable pattern, step-by-step instructions, and a Bible verse to think about while you tuck. My hope is simple: a quiet project for your hands and a little time with God's Word for your heart.
What Is Kinusaiga?
Kinusaiga (kee-noo-SIGH-gah) is a Japanese fabric art with no sewing. You cut shallow grooves into foam board, then tuck small pieces of fabric into them with a simple tool. The finished piece looks like a little quilt in a frame.
It's a wonderful way to use the scraps you can't bear to throw away. If you love fabric but don't love threading a needle, this craft might be for you.
Free Pattern: New Every Morning Sunrise
The first Pattern of the Month is a cheerful sunrise, inspired by Lamentations 3. That book was written after Jerusalem fell, in a season of deep grief. Yet right in the middle of the sorrow, the writer stops and remembers who God is:
"The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22–23
Every sunrise is a picture of that promise. No matter how long the night, His mercies meet us fresh each morning.
