Adobe Photoshop Design Software

Photoshop is my go-to tool for creating Bible journaling printables and digital pages. It lets me layer backgrounds, add Scripture, arrange ephemera, and design everything from Memory Dex cards to full 12x12 layouts. With brushes, clipping masks, and type tools, I can turn any verse into a visual devotion. It’s perfect for both digital and printable projects—bringing creativity and Scripture together beautifully. Once you design your pages in Photoshop, you can either share them digitally or print them out to create beautiful, handmade paper journals. Paper journal supplies below. 👇

✂️ Fiskars Precision Paper Trimmer

This trimmer makes straight, clean cuts every time—perfect for Bible journaling, scrapbook pages, and junk journal inserts. With a wire guide to show exactly where you're cutting, it’s ideal for crafters who value accuracy without the stress. Lightweight but sturdy. I was using a guillotine cutter but it does not line up as well as this trimmer. Fiskar's Paper Trimmer (also check Michaels for sales)

✂️ Kushgrip Non-Stick Micro Serrated Scissors – 7" by Tim Holtz

These comfortable, easy-grip scissors are perfect for fussy cutting ephemera, ribbon, or even sticky materials like washi or gluey edges. The micro-serrated blade grips the paper instead of slipping, and the non-stick coating makes them a dream for messy projects. Kushgrip Micro Serrated Scissors.

📏 We R Memory Keepers Score Board

Let’s be honest—folding by hand can get messy fast. This tool takes the guesswork out of measuring and folding straight lines. Whether I’m making a folio-style layout, flip-ups, or interactive panels, the score board helps everything look clean and professional. It saves me time and keeps my paper from cracking—plus, it's a joy to use! We are Memory Keepers Score Board

Cricut Maker 4 Smart Cutting Machine

I've witched for Prime Day to upgrade from my Cricut Maker 2 to the Cricut Maker 4—this smart cutting machine is a big leap from my beloved Cricut 2, which I’ll be passing on to my sweet daughter-in-law. The Maker 4’s lightning-fast speed and ability to cut without a mat using Smart Materials will save me so much time. I can’t wait to use it for cutting out Memory Dex cards, Bible journal stickers, and all the little details that make my creative faith projects come to life! Cricut Maker 4

I had a hard time choosing between the Cricut Maker 4 and the Cricut Joy Xtra—both are great machines. I went with the Maker 4 because I wanted the speed, power, and ability to cut a wider range of materials for bigger projects like full-page Bible journaling layouts and chipboard covers.

But if you're mainly making stickers, Memory Dex cards, or smaller projects, the Joy Xtra is a fantastic, space-saving frugal option—and it even supports print-then-cut. It really depends on how and where you craft!

Cricut Joy Xtra Cutting Machine

The Cricut Joy Xtra is a compact, smart cutting machine that handles up to 8.5" wide projects—perfect for Bible journaling stickers, labels, and Memory Dex cards. It supports print-then-cut, works with Smart Materials, and is ideal for small spaces or crafting on the go. Cricut Joy Xtra

EK Tools Bone Folder

The EK Tools Bone Folder makes crisp folds and smooths paper perfectly. Ideal for scoring, creasing, and flattening Bible journaling pages, Memory Dex cards, and junk journal elements—it’s a small tool that makes a big difference!  EK Tools Bone Folder

🖨️ 80lb White Cardstock (Printer Paper)

This is my everyday essential. I print nearly all my journal templates, scripture cards, backgrounds, and embellishments on 80lb cardstock. It’s sturdy enough to take ink, glue, and even a bit of paint without curling, but still light enough to run through my printer with ease. If you’re printing Bible journaling kits or digital downloads, this is the sweet spot.   80lb White Cardstock

📚 100lb 8x8 Cardstock (Thicker Paper)

Think of this as the foundation of your journal. I use it for anything that needs extra strength—like the covers of mini books, base pages for lapbook-style inserts, or pull-out tags. The smaller size makes it ideal for layering without bulk. It's especially helpful when I want a little dimension or durability without sacrificing flexibility.

Thicker Paper: 8x8 100 Lb Card stock

12  12 Card Stock

12x12 cardstock because of its versatility and generous size. It can be folded into pockets, envelopes, or folio-style inserts, cut down for tags and journal cards, or used as sturdy covers for handmade books. The larger format allows for more creative freedom when layering elements, adding texture, or designing interactive pages. Whether used whole or trimmed, 12x12 cardstock gives makers the space and structure they need to bring their unique journal visions to life. 12x12 Cardstock

Score Tape

I never craft without this! Score tape is a strong double-sided adhesive that won’t warp your paper like wet glue can. It’s perfect for creating hinges, attaching envelopes, and adding pockets. I also love that it’s mess-free—just peel, stick, and done! It gives me peace of mind knowing everything will stay securely in place, even after months of flipping and handling. Score Tape

Art Glitter Glue

Art Glitter Glue  is a top choice for junk journaling because it dries clear, bonds strong, and works on paper, fabric, and lace. The fine-tip nozzle allows precise application, perfect for detailed work without warping or mess. Despite the name, there is no glitter. Art Glitter Glue

 📏 Grafix Medium Weight Chipboard – 12"x12

This chipboard adds structure and durability to your journals. Use it to create covers, dividers, or flip-outs that need a firm base. Medium weight is just right: thick enough to be sturdy, but thin enough to cut with a craft knife or trimmer.

🧲 Tiny Magnets for Closures

There’s something magical about opening a page and hearing that little click as a flap closes with a magnet. These tiny, powerful magnets are great for hidden closures—tuck them between layers of paper for an elegant, seamless look. They’re also perfect for keeping fold-outs, envelopes, and secret pockets closed tightly.  Tiny Magnets

🪡 Book Binding Kit

If you love the idea of making your own journals or sewing in signatures, a basic bookbinding kit is a must. Mine includes waxed thread, strong needles, an awl for punching holes, and binding clips. I use it to create hand-stitched journals that feel rich and personal. It’s a quiet, meditative process that connects me to the generations of women who stitched books and Bibles by hand before me. This one has it all for only $12.

 Laser Printer

The Brother HL-L3270CDW Color Laser Printer is the perfect mix of quality, affordability, and cardstock capability. It prints beautifully on heavier paper, which is ideal for my Bible journaling, Memory Dex cards, and junk journal elements. The real win is the toner cost—Brother’s high-yield cartridges last for thousands of pages, and I can use reliable third-party toner to save even more. No more worrying about ink drying out or constantly refilling. It’s fast, wireless, and handles everything I need for both everyday printing and creative projects.

  • Cardstock Friendly: Handles up to 163 gsm (65 lb cover weight) through a manual feed slot.

  • Toner Cost: Very affordable. Compatible third-party toner refills are widely available.

  • Bonus: Wireless printing, fast, and reliable.

  • Best for: Memory Dex cards, printable ephemera, labels, and general journaling.

Ink Jet Printer

Best Inkjet Printer for Cardstock & Cheap Ink (there are cheaper printers but yo spend a fortune on ink)

If you're printing full-color Bible journaling pages, stickers, and printable ephemera, the Epson EcoTank ET-2850 is an amazing inkjet option. It uses refillable ink bottles instead of cartridges, so the ink lasts forever and costs pennies per page—making it one of the most affordable long-term options available. It prints beautifully on cardstock and is ideal for color-rich projects. While I personally use a laser printer for fast black-and-white prints and text-heavy journaling, I love the EcoTank for vibrant, detailed pages. If you can only choose one, the EcoTank is a great all-around choice for creative faith projects—especially if you want quality color without breaking the bank.

Why It's a Great Choice:

  • Ink Cost: The EcoTank system uses refillable ink bottles instead of cartridges—each set prints thousands of pages for just a few dollars.

  • No drying out: The ink stays ready, even if you print occasionally.

  • Cardstock Friendly: Can handle up to 80–90 lb cardstock through the rear paper feed.

  • Print Quality: Crisp color and text—great for journaling stickers, verse cards, and decorative layouts.

  • Wireless printing from your phone or computer.

🧡 Why These Tools Matter

Bible journaling isn’t just about crafting—it’s worship with paper and glue. These supplies help me create pages that reflect the beauty and weight of God’s Word. With them, I can slow down, focus on a single verse, and create something lasting that holds my prayers, reflections, and praises.

And here’s the truth: you don’t need everything to start. Begin with what you have. But if you’re ready to invest in tools that will last and help you enjoy the process more, these are my tried-and-true favorites.
