God's Love (Bible Tag 1)

We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19

One of the most important things I taught my children is this: There is nothing you can do to make God love you more; there is nothing you can do to make God love you less.

John reminded Believers that God's love is perfect and that we should love others in return.
God's love is given to us as a gift. Through our prayers and acts, we should share that gift with others.

Accepting God's grace is accepting God's invitation to become a member of his family. Our identity is not defined by our things, talents, tattoos, accolades, or achievements. We are not defined by your divorce, shortcomings, debt, or poor decisions. We are children of God. We can address him as Papa.

  • We "may approach God freely and confidently" (Eph 3:12).
  • We are blessed with his special love (see 1Jn 4:9-11) and provision (see Lk 11:11–13).
  • We will inherit Christ's riches and reign beside him forever (see Ro 8:17).

We have been accepted into the eternal family. Hostile boundaries are broken down, and community is formed based on a shared Father. Worldwide family in an instant!

The love depicted on the cross reminds us that we are not meant to live comfortable, self-centered lives. Jesus' acts demonstrate that love is more than just an emotion—it is sacrifice and self-denial. We live to love both God and people, and the best way to do so is through service.

If God loves us, we must be worthy of being loved. We must be valuable if he wishes to have us in His kingdom.

 Bible Tag Prompt 1

Our first Bible prompt is love. Include a heart on your tag.

As you stitch a verse on love this week, pray that you have a correct perception of yourself by concentrating on how God sees you: as his child and heir.
