Discovering the Parables Jesus Told
Bible Journal Class
Jesus taught with stories: a sower scattering seed, a shepherd searching for one lost sheep, a father running down the road to meet his son. His first listeners heard more in those stories than we usually do, because nearly every one echoed a picture they already knew from the Old Testament.
In 16 lessons, we'll walk through more than 30 of His parables, open the window on the Jewish world behind them, and journal what they show us about God, His Kingdom, and ourselves.
YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Hi, I'm Robin Sampson-McCarthy.
The parables are some of the most familiar stories in the Bible, and that's exactly why I love teaching them. We've heard them so often that we miss what Jesus' first listeners caught right away. Read them in their Jewish setting, with the Old Testament echoing underneath, and they come alive again.
I've taught Bible studies for over 30 years, and now I design Bible journal kits to go with each class. It is a labor of love!
Here's How It Works
